Sportsman - Daring Cardmakers

It's Friday! The working week is over and it's time for a Daring Cardmakers dare. This week it comes from Kathy and the theme is Sportsman. I chose 'fisherman' for my card as I was distinctly lacking in my supplies for any sports related cards. I just a Stampin Up stamp and embossed it using clear embossing powder, I used Tim Holtz distress inks over the top and coloured the fish in also using distress inks. The card was finished off creating bubbles using Diamond Glaze.

Supples:
Tim Holtz distress ink, stamp from Stampin Up.

The ScrapCake 'My Private Happiness'

Yumskee! I did some serious cutting today using The ScrapCakes 'My Private Happiness' papers for a challenge over on their blog. They've included some gorgeous digital freebies to download and print for this challenge, of which I used the bird filmstrip and that cute pink butterfly.

I used a cute little bird and blue flower from The Teahousebridge and flowers from Prima.

I reused some Perspex packaging and using my Martha Stewart punch, punched a butterfly to layer onto their freebie.

And this is the end result, a photo of my Mum and Dad when she was sweet 16.

Using those punches - Making Tags

It seems there's a lot of tutorials appearing on blogs on how to make additional uses of your punches, so I thought I'd have a look at what punches I had and found another use of the Martha Stewart 'Scallop dot' border punch. It makes a cute little tag for your projects.

Take a strip of paper, here I've used one of Papertrey Ink's stamps.

Line up the paper so that the hole in the punch makes the hole in the top of the tag.

And this is the final result, I like it as a cute little tag.

Supplies:
Printed paper 'Emma's Shoppe' by Crate Paper, stamp from Papertrey Inc, punches from Martha Stewart, square button from Tea House Bridge.

Remember You - Pink Paislee

Another layout from me, the joys of rainy days off work. To be honest I'm really enjoying it, a little time just for me, to do what I want.

Supplies:
House of Three paper from Pink Paislee, flowers from Prima, letters from My Little Shoebox, punches from Martha Stewart.

Sketch Saturday - The ScrapCake - The Bright Side of Life

More cutting, more creating! I'm going to have to get myself some more of these papers, or sign up to a big scrapbook kit company that use this kind of style, decisions, decisions....
I used the sketch over at Sketch Saturday for this card. I distressed a little using the sander and added some glimmer mist on the main image and the flowers, it's such a shame it never shows up in the photos.

Supplies:
The Bright Side of Life and My Private Happiness papers from The ScrapCake, stamps from Lost & Found My Minds Eye, Card Candy, Rum punch Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels, Angel Mist from Cosmic Shimmer.
